First Troll

First Lady Melania uses fashion as her voice. The infamous jacket with I Don’t Care Do You the most overt example of her inclination to speak through clothing choices. Perhaps she longs to be a Tsarina as her husband admires autonomous regimes. The buttercup gown she wore to dinner in Oxfordshire was a J Mendel, established in 1870 St. Petersburg, Russia for the Romanovs. As they go to meet with Putin. Not an idle sartorial decision to be sure.

Today she played bowls in a striped Victoria Beckham. Never shy in her bespokeness. Funny.

TTSD & Me

Spotted this enterprising guy in Central Park. Where else could his buttons be more popular? As I was buying one as a gift for my TTSD-suffering Dr. Husband, a group of school kids came over wanting to see the array of choices. Dr. H bought them a few, too. One young man whispered to me, “I voted for Trump over Hillary”. He was maybe 12. I said, why? He said because if Hillary were President, we’d already be at war now. Hmmm.

Then a wonderfully hilarious column about MSNBC addiction in the NY Times spoke to me. Every time I walk into a room it’s on. Pedantic pontificating hosts are killing me! So related.

“It’s Mueller Time”

Misfired Ire

Hair on fire! Trump is a racist misogynistic tyrant! Finally we see him for who he really is!! What? This is the same guy whose immigration policy was to ban all colorful people from entering the country, hung out at the Playboy Mansion, owned beauty pageants, led the birther movement. BEFORE he was elected President. What is with this surprised outrage? Have you met him?

None of the ire directed at Trump will win the next election. Broken record alert! Jamie Dimon said it yesterday. Dems don’t have a centrist candidate who can win the general election in 2020. That’s where the biased media should be focusing its rants.

Clown Alert!

The new horror movie IT is tapping into people’s deepest fears. With all-clown screenings being planned. Terrifying. Chilling. Creepy. Dangerous. Sinister.

Since Trump. Coulrophobia has become rampant.

Chaos Is A Ladder

Bran recalled Littlefinger’s phrase in Game of Thrones. It may apply to today’s Trump administration. Chief of Staff John Kelly looks like jelly in the wake of his boss’ derailment syndrome. Trump talking off-the-cuff to give cover to KuKluxers in his mid-town tower.

In the meantime. Wily Steve Bannon gave an interview to moonbat Robert Kuttner in Amherst, Massachusetts no less. Calling Alt-Right fringe a collection of clowns. Identity politics will crush the Democrats, said he. Thinking his comments were off-the-record. Kuttner & Bannon do seem to share antipathy for Chinese trade shenanigans. Bannon must be out-the-door.

Chaos is a ladder to unity afterall. To sanity and comity. A civil coup.

Danger Field

Rodney Dangerfield. The comedian famous for lamenting “I don’t get no respect”.  This may be the constant rant we hear over the next four years. As our new Petulant Adolescent President continues his knee-jerk – emphasis on jerk – reactions to each perceived disrespect. With Theresa May sounding similar in the UK it could be a dangerous world. Cue TTSD.

On the football field. Will I. Am v. Peeper Creeper. The 2 Rodgers v. the Ryan-Shanahan Fighting Irish. Okay. I say. SuperBowl. Atlanta v. Pats. Atlanta wins.

Sonnet Sets On 2016

The sun finally sets on this quake year
Disruptions left fissures as yet unclear
Nation shaken by Heartland’s frustration
Rally-rocked stadiums in rural towns
While shuttered Main Streets heaved up in despair
As tone deaf hunkered under safe bunkers
Beneath cloistered thought-gated college lawns
In cocktail cult kissass-disguised newsrooms
Consulting class glass shattered on both coasts
Hit by a political tsunami
From Brexit to Nexit the EU cracked
Populists tilted globalist axis
Expect tectonic economic shifts
And frequent volcanic Trump eruptions

Election Elegy

Whatever the outcome of the 2016 Presidential election, there will be a deep collective sigh of sadness. For the loss of comity and civility in politics, journalism, society as a whole.

The Republican Establishment will have to find a way to acknowledge and address the anger of Trump’s supporters. J.D. Vance’s Hillbilly Elegy is the most glaring glimpse into generations of cultural and economic suffering in rural America. The country has reached a true tipping point.

Democrats have also left a large swath of its voters in the lurch. Clinton’s coronation was baked into the entire primary process cake with Bernie Sanders’ followers remaining disgruntled and disaffected. Big money interests will endure.

Either way the scales stay unbalanced. We’re left with a lament.
