EveningPorchLights

As evenings grow shorter, turning on porch lights earlier. Not loving ManBooker picks. ShortList includes Mantel’s sorry sequel to her worthy winner, Wolf Hall. Guess I will try Will Self’s Umbrella, which made the cut. Communion Town and Skios did not. Agree. Alison Moore’s The Lighthouse, did. Dismal.

Betsey liked Porch Lights, by Dorothea Benton Frank. Looking forward to Jana Richman’s new release, The Ordinary Truth, at month’s end. Also, Roland Merullo’s sequel, Lunch with Buddha in November.

  1. October Issue of “Vanity Fair”- Michael Lewis’ article “Obama and Me” is a WOW. It gave me heightened respect for and surprising insights into Obama the President. Lewis’ writing is always wonderful.
