MidSummer Books

Gone Girl, by Gillian FlynnJust get it and read it. Then look at the reviews. Nothing I say can describe the journey you are about to take in reading this cleverly structured story. Great writing, well-developed real characters. Everyone can relate to many aspects of this couple’s current day relationship. But, hopefully not everything. They take it to a new level of complication. I was left with a conflicted conclusion about these two people. That’s good. *****

Other books worth a sultry porch read: Defending Jacob, The Chaperone, The Cat’s Table. My reviews on Books page and Amazon.

PithyV liked Capital by John Lanchester; Messud’s Emperor’s Children (this one not for me). GQ’s picks- Come From Nowhere, Ellen Greenfield; The Man in the Sharkskin Suit and The Arrogant Years, Lucette Lagnado.
